“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Yep.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Why didn't they play like that against KU?
Seems we always get everyone's best shot!

The question is why did KU come out and play their worst game of the year? UNC, save Jackson and Meeks, was pedestrian tonight.

Both questions apply.

How bad was it? Oregon shot 37% against the Tarholes, 50.9% against us. Dorsey and Brooks shot 33% from three against the Tarholes and 50% against us. And to my eye they had more open shots. I'am sure they're kicking themselves in the butt right now the way we did last week. Old Roy should be thanking the basketball Gods, at least until he plays Gonzaga.
