I love the kid (and he still is quite young), but I've been frustrated by him for most of the season. :woohoo: Watching him last night I think I might have figured out my (not his) dilemma. ;) Svi is a good player, a very good player. Hell, he starts on the greatest team in the nation. B) But I watch him play next to BIFM, my man DG, and the ever omnipresent JJack, not to mention the rock that is LL. So maybe he is the weakest starting link in a ridiculously strong chain.

I hereby retract all negative posts about Svi and publicly apologize to him ('cause I know he's worried about what I think  ) and wish him continued phenomenal success with the best college basketball of this season.

What a year this has been!

Svi has been having a HELL of a good tournament. He carried us in the first half when the going was a bit dicey against Michigan State. He played well last night before giving way to the ferocious Vick.

Self has found an insanely lethal 1-2 punch at the 3 spot with those two guys. Thunder and Lightning if you will. And yet, very tough for opposing scouts/players because their games are so dramatically different.

Our young Ukrainian has found his defensive mojo (finally!) and is playing with much greater intensity and effectiveness. Couldn't have come at a better time.

I agree - in the two games that I attended in Tulsa, thought Svi worked very hard. Granted, he isn't as quick as some of the other guys, but he always hustled. Appeared to be the same last night from the tv screen. BTW, just finished scooping about 6" of wet heavy snow from the deck and sidewalk here southeast of Parker.

Not the liability he has been much of the time IMO. Don't regress now kid!

I think he has done well not settling for the spot up jumper from behind the arc. He has developed an effective drive to the basket and has been finishing well. I think that threat to drive can only help keep the opposing D honest...can't afford to overplay the 3 point shot from Svi if he is a realistic option to drive it for a shot or pass to the open guy as the defense shifts to help.

Agree, Oread. And he is actually playing decent D as well. Haven't seen him losing his man or even really being a step behind in the tournament. Has made a huge difference in where the opposition can attack. Kid is hustling his heart out and playing smart, can't ask for anything more (even if we greedily do).

Best of luck today to Svi and the team!
