He did a good job with the Tech program. I hate to see him leave the Big 12.

That stinks. They were doing great and headed in the right direction. I don't know that Memphis is any better than Tech. I'd think not but I'm a Big 12 fan.

FEDEX money
basketball school v. Texas (aka football) school
recruiting rich region

During the season won't have to face Self, Kruger, Underwood, Dixon, Smart coached teams that have more talent than his.

Then there are all the reasons Metcalf mentions in this other ESPN article .

Bottom line, it's a good move for Tubby, and I wish him well.

But of more interest to me is who does TT hire to replace him? The influx of solid coaches into the Big 12 has been a plus for the conference, will Tech surprise us with another?

Why would Chris Beard leave UNLV for TT after just signing on in Vegas?

Can't believe there is that much $$$ difference.

I can see the difference in conferences being a plus, but leave a hoops school for a FB school, even in one of the best hoops conferences?

Of course, he has been there before, but... he JUST agreed to coach at UNLV.

I just don't see it, unless the man has absolutely no moral center.

HE--

Dont know nuthin bout this guy....but I'm sad to say I have a number of persons employed by the same place that employs me who have ZERO moral center.

Wouldn't bat an eye to get something a lot less than a head coaching position in the Big 12......however, Lubbock might be a hard sell. :silly:

This upcoming SLAM pertains to no one on this board!

I have discovered something:

We elder states-persons, are/were total dweebs.......did our homework, say yes sir and yes maam, respect others, work hard for a fair wage.

MY co-workers in the 40 - 55 range.....are the laziest, most entitled goof balls ever. They frustrate me to no end.

However, my "babies"...... 24 (who the heck is 24 anyway???) to late 30's are the hardest working bunch ever....so refreshing!!!

Just when I thought it was over......here comes a good new crop!

:)

BTW--

I found a conference title t shirt yesterday -- Jock's Nitch on line -- the 12 straight one with the 12 making the R in straight.

Happy Dance!!!!

thru babbling......LUNCH!
