Roy Williams - "It's a tough moment in coaching when you go in the locker room and you feel so inadequate because there's nothing you can say that can erase what happened. There's nothing you can say that can make your kids feel better than they do.

"I do want to congratulate Syracuse. They outplayed us. They outcoached us. They won the game. I consider Jimmy Boeheim a friend that doesn't get the greatest respect around the country, and I don't know that that's fair. But that's the way a person gets labelled. They feel fantastic in their locker room right now, and we feel as far away from that as you can possibly be.

"A guy asked me before the season started if there was going to be a void if I went down as the best coach never to win a national championship. I told my team in the locker room right there that if I never win a national championship, as long as I could have those kind of kids that I was going to enjoy my life every single day. That didn't mean that I didn't have a desperate dream. But if I had to choose, I would shoose those kind of kids that I have in that locker room. And if that disappoints somebody because there's not the fiery competitor that has to win at all costs, then that's their problem. It's not mine. I'm as proud of those kids as I can be."

Jacque Vaughn - "I got a good look (on the last shot). I called B.J. up to set a screen on the top perimeter player, and I had a pretty good look. It just didn't go in.

"We had a play designed, and they did a good job of covering it. Our intention was to get a shot off a little bit faster and maybe have a shot at an offensive rebound, ut they did a good job denying our wings and not let them get the ball. My job as a point guard is to create something, and I thought I created a pretty good situation. It just wasn't in my behalf this time.

"You never like for (shooting eye) to go away, especially when you're the ones shooting the shots. It was only two nights ago we were making some of those same shots, and for us to turn around in an even bigger game and not make those shots made it a little tougher for us. We definitely have to say they did play good defense as well and give some credit to their defense. But we did have some good looks, and the ball just didn't go in for us.

Raef LaFrentz - "I think a big part of it was our lack of movement. We didn't move as well as we should have. Most of the game we needed to move ourselves and the ball quicker. They have a very tough zone with big bodies down low, and they use their size very well."
