"Congratulations to Iowa State, to Tim (Floyd) and his staff, and the players. It's what makes college basketball the great game that it is. You had two teams that weren't necessarily doing all the pretty things. But you had two teams playing extremely hard, trying to give it everything they had, and at the end one team ended up having one more point than the other.

"We had an inability to do a good job on Kenny Pratt. You look at the stats, and he's 8-16, but I felt like he was scoring 500 out there. I thought we did a better job on Dedric (Willoughby). He's 6-21, and yet at the same time he makes two big free throws to win the basketball game. We struggled shooting the basketball in the hole, and we've done that a lot this year. I keep thinking we're gonna be a good shooting team. Maybe I'll go to my grave thinking that, but I still think we're going to be a good shooting team. We didn't get the offensive punch inside with our big people that I felt like we needed. It was really just a struggle for us offensively basiclally the whole game. When we had open shots, we didn't make as many of them. We had trouble hanging onto the ball, and for the thrid game in a row I thought the other team beat us to death on the offensive backboards. We can't allow that to happen, but it did."

Jacque Vaughn - "We're still hurting. We're still emotionally drained. We need to get fired up now, and it's going to start with me and my attitude. We could drop our heads and be mad at ourselves and mad at the world. But no way. You know me better than that."
