Season summary

Roy Williams - "Congratulations to Gene Keady and his staff. I have a great deal of repect for Gene as an individual and as a coach, and I'm very happy for him right now. I think Glenn Robinson and Cuonzo Martin were absolutely fantatic. I know Glenn got all the talk, and he deserves 99 percent of what he got, but at the same time I don't think Glenn Robinson can beat us by himself. You look down there and Cuonzo Martin is eight for 13 from the three-point line, and I do think it was Purdue's team that beat Kansas' team. Coach Keady did a better job of getting his team prepared than Roy Williams did. If I had done a little better job of getting our team prepared, maybe they would have had a better chance.

"If you like college basketball, you had to like the way both teams fought. We were down 11 in the first half and came back and cut it to one or two. We were down 14 in the second half and got it back to two. And even when it was five, we got two straight turnovers, but just didn't get the ball to go in the basket.

"I've been coaching for 21 years, and I don't know that I've ever been any prouder of a group, and I know that I've never had a group that I've enjoyed as much as I have this one.

"Instead of me rambling, I'd just like to say again, congratulations to Purdue. Glenn Robinson was fantastic and put on quite a show, but Cuonzo Martin was just as big, and Purdue beat Kansas."
