KU Volleyball Defeats #1 USC

The Kansas vollleyball team won Saturday in San Diego, beating the #1 seed Southern California Trojans in 5 sets.  The Jayhawks, who were playing in the school's first-ever Elite Eight, are now going to the Final Four in Omaha, NE.

 KU won the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-21.  USC had big leads in both sets 3 and 4, but KU had scrappy comebacks before eventually losing them 22-25 and 19-25. In the fifth set USC again built up a big lead.  KU fought to tie it up at 13, and then won the next two points for the win.  KU finished the match with a 6-0 run.

KU plays next Thursday night verus former conference foe Nebraska.  It's the second semi-final of the night, with an approximate start time of 8:30 CST.  The match will be carried by ESPN2.
