Player Ratings and +/- for Loyola and season

by CorpusJayhawk

My eyeball test said Wayne was the star performer in this game. The numbers back me up. Blow are the (+/_ numbers for the game and the season. Below that are the player ratings for the game and the season. There are some potentially exciting numbers here. Here are the takeaways.

-- Selden continues to perform at a high level. He has the 2nd best player rating on the team to Frank Mason and is averaging a rating of 1.08/min. Anything over 1.0 is just superb.
-- Diallo debuted with a player rating of 24.3 which is a very nice game for a starter much less 15.8 minutes off the bench. His rating per minute was 1.54 which is stratospheric. Of course consider the opponent. But nonetheless it is much to get excited about.
-- The (+/-) for the season says Svi is contributing.

-- The numbers say Jamari's starting spots are limited. Jamari will get a huge ovation on Senior NIght and will deserve it. He has come a long long way in his 3+ years but he simply does not have the skills to warrant the minutes. He can have great games like the 2nd half tonight but he can have real stinkers. Love the heart in this young man but you have to play the best team. His season (+/-) is simply not good.
-- Mason is the clear MVP at this point. He leads in (+/-) and rating. But Selden is most improved.
-- Perry's numbers are good but for his role on this team need to improve.
-- Brannen has a team high rating per minute. I hope his troubles are behind him and he comes out blazing.
-- The numbers say Devonte' is not quite there yet (meaning on a par with the big three of Mason, Selden and Ellis) but the eyeball says he is improving rapidly every game.
-- All of our big men are putting up nice numbers in terms of rating per minute. That is highly encouraging. While Diallo showed signs of becoming the MAN, he will have plenty of backup if he falters or needs a break or most likely gets in foul trouble. Landen Lucas actually has the third best rating per minute on the team.

All of these numbers have to be compared to the competition. Let's hope we continue to improve and keep putting up these kinds of numbers.
