I am glad that they point out that this is different then the shooting star that was KU football back in the Mangino era. We will be as good next year, so that is one thing for us.

The counter to that is that we are going to be a team with a target so I think the competition will be stiffer. So while I see us being very good, I think our overall record might suffer a bit.

Finally the comment at the end sort of bothers me. He has been here at KU for 18 years. As I have stated elsewhere, Bechard has had some decent teams, he just has missed out with some gaps. I am guessing that the person that brought us to the next level was Kuhn. The two of them make for a great team and we need to keep both of them.

Which comment do you mean?

"We've got a good one with Coach Bechard. Treat him right and with respect and we have the makings of a program. "Programs" take years, so patience goes hand-in-hand with hard work."

I think the next comment had it nailed regarding keeping Kuhn. I like bechard and think he is good, Kuhn really raised the talent level.
