Except for my college years and 3 very, very long months in Arizona, I've been a Kansas resident. I knew Kansas when she was well-respected, fairly progressive, and economically sound, and I watched her become a national joke, go into financial ruin, and shoot herself in the foot year after year. Now I can be proud of her again. It's so good to see a bright spot in America's darkest, most shameful time.
