Key points from the article:

Phase 1 begins after the upcoming season.
  • It will include the west side (press box & suites side), the north side (the bowl), the convention center, and the rest of the Anderson Family Football complex renovations.
  • All seating will end up closer to the playing field.
  • The north bowl moving in closer to the field (will still retain the bowl shape) will allow building the convention center north of the bowl without hitting the street.
  • Capacity will drop from current 47,233 to 40,000-45,000. (Per Jon Kirby of JayhawkSlant Football the AY2024-25 season will see seating in the 20Ks due to the construction)

Future phases
  • The “east side” and “south side” of the stadium and entertainment/hotel portions of the project are in future phases. As with Phase 1, the size and scope of the ideas here are massive
