12 Freshmen signing. 5 transfers. Good mix of players to fill needs now and develop down the road. Not sure if we'll have more freshmen signings, but we should see more transfers and/or juco signings.
With the loss of Kasen Weisman and the likely departure of Jason Bean, one of the targets will probably be a QB with 3+ years of eligibility.

Looks like a nice start, bklynhawk. Figure to see more down the road from HS, JUCO and the portal… especially the portal… *IF* KU has the rides to offer… maybe just 6 more?
Remember the annual 25 max new scholarship offers is not in effect, but we are close to the 85 total scholarships per year limit.
I’m reading estimates that we are at about 79 now, allowing for transfers out and signees. Jon Kirby, JayhawkSlant football guru, writes 5 left Wednesday evening, I’d go with that.
Stealing this breakout from another board…
QB - muddy waters re: Jason Bean. He might still be in play for next year. Like to see him back.
WR- no glaring need, but the staff has been active with portal receiver offers. would love a true deep threat.
OL- at least 1 HS kid to develop.
DE- yes, please, preferably 2. Pass rush, anyone?
LB- perhaps our biggest need right now. Probably a portal target as need someone ready to go out if the gate.
CB - want to have 6, have 5 scholarship corners

Their position on the roster will not become official until they arrive on campus and attend a class, and they will sign grant in aid agreements rather than letters of intent. KU picked up another commitment from a transfer on Wednesday morning, when Colorado State defensive lineman Devin Phillips announced his plans to come to KU. Phillips’ commitment came one day after KU landed a pledge from Minnesota defensive lineman Gage Keys and less than a week after Texas State kicker Seth Keller committed to the Jayhawks. Wisconsin offensive lineman Logan Brown also has committed to KU out of the transfer portal.
