KUSports - Boyer: Lance Leipold’s second Kansas team to feature Big 12-high 19 transfers

I have high hopes for significant improvement this season, the first real program improvement (aside from hiring Leipold in April 2021) in over a decade. I can’t predict our Jayhawks will go bowling, but I am confident they will be giving us lots of good moments this coming season.

Thumbs up and
Rock Chalk, Jayhawks!

Thanks for posting, HawkErrant! With Report day here today, fall camp starting tomorrow, and 32 days until first game kickoff! Seems like the right time to start talking about this upcoming football season.

It was a good article. One commenter questioned the ratio of transfers vs. freshmen signees. Given the circumstances (late hire, etc.), bringing in this many transfers makes sense. And, I also believe the ratio will change over the course of the year with more freshmen than transfers. Keep in mind the NCAA changed the rules and made it more wide open for transfers to move more often. So, I think some of the thinking will have to change with coaching staffs.

My prediction is the defense will be notably improved over last season. The 12 transfers brought in talent, experience, and depth to every position.

Also, look for some nice things on offense with guys like Ky Thomas added.

Rock chalk, let's go!
