"Super Bowl" I

Wheaty has too many cable stations!

Last evening on the NFL network (who knew) there was a loooong telecast on Super Bowl I (which wasn't called Super Bowl then). Wow, we've come a long way baby!

It was interesting to be reminded of "those" Chiefs. And of the AFL, Lamar Hunt. I think they said a 30 second commercial cost $45K (this year 30 seconds costs over $4m.)

There is a photo of Lenny Dawson in the locker room at half time. He's standing there talking to someone, while smoking a cigarette!!

At halftime the marching bands from AZ State and Grambling performed.

I'm sure some of you would enjoy the X's and O's.....some similar plays used to this day.

Anyway, kind of fun.

Ha ha! The one on the show (which was panned in the reviews for having too much chatter) had a guy in the background wearing Mickey Mouse ears. I guess the Chiefs (I suppose because they represented the AFL) were called Mickey Mouse ....thus the supply of ears in the locker room as well as a supply of cigarettes!
