Luckily my cable system has ACC Network and got to watch this game. Started out looking like the pre-game predictions would be right. Then, Stanley and the staff put BC on their heels and never let up.

QB/Carter Stanley (Grade: A ) - Looked a little shaky at the very beginning with the interception, but did an excellent job managing the game. Also, kept the ball and made some nice plays. 238 yards passing, 3 TDs, and 1 Int. Stanley did get a little lucky on at least one almost interception.

RB's (Grade: A+ ) - Khalil Herbert was the story tonight with 187 yards and 1 touchdown. That 82 yard run at the end of the first half stunned BC. Pooka was also great tonight with 100! Pooka, Herbert and Dom Williams combined for 185 yards and a touchdown. Overall rushing yards was 173 due to -12 yards from Stanley.

WR's/TE's (Grade: A+) - Andrew Parchment led the way with 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lassiter contributed and Stephon Robinson Jr. had some great blocks on Herbert's runs, along with his 31 yards receiving.. In total, there were 5 targets with receiving yards and/or touchdowns. Good use of the tight ends.

Offensive Line (Grade: A-) - Looked very good tonight. No sacks allowed and no penalties. Opened lanes for Williams and Herbert.

Defense (Grade A) - What can you say about defense that holds a team, averaging 40 points a game and was supposed to win by a margin of 3 TD's, to 24 points? Except, great job! No takeaways, but they never let BC get into a good rhythm after the 1st half. I'm pretty every time we AJ Dillon (BC's star RB) was brought down it was a gang tackle.

Special Teams/Kicking (Grade A) - Lumping Special Teams and field goal kicking together for efficiency sake. Great night, Jones looked good, going 2 for 2 with Gagen (placeholder) coming through on some iffy snaps. Good job on Special Teams no TD's given up and no dropped balls.

Coaches (Grade: A+) - This wasn't supposed to be close. Many were predicting a complete blow out of KU by BC in Chestnut Hill. The staff seems to have completely changed the playbook since last week and BC looked stunned and lost trying to stop the offense. Also, defense looked strong again and no noticeable mistakes. Extremely encouraging.

Concur on all fronts!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

Clearly this team has some potential and to lose to CCU the way they did was pretty hard to take.

The good news is we got that road win that has eluded us for so long.

The bad news is that we are wildly inconsistent.

Not sure how many wins are out there for us, but a good shot might be this week against WVU. They will come in prepared after our win. We won't catch them looking ahead. So we had better bring it for this home game. It would be nice to have two wins in a row.

So looking at the schedule and assuming we will be inconsistent, what games do people see as being potential wins for us? Just wondering where folks are seeing Ws and how that will set the table up for the future.

The inconsistency is caused by two things:
1. A completely new staff that is only in its third game of working together. All of these coaches have tons of experience, but almost no experience working on the same staff together or in the current roles in this combination.
2. There are also is a significant amount of new players or players that have been promoted from backup to starter roles. So, again, lack of experience working together.

With that said, I think there was a clear change in offensive strategy between the Coastal Carolina game and the BC game. The play calling and style of play KU showed at BC really plays to their strengths: Pooka and Khalil. I think it's going to be game 6 or 7 before we really know how this team works together and if they can continue the success of the BC game. WVU, K-State, and Texas Tech look they will be tough wins.

Opening spread was -7 WVU. Last I saw is -4.5.

Predictions seem split on this with most saying it will be close either way.
