What started as a solid game has quickly blown up

Start with as FG to take a 3-0 lead, then a pick six to go up 10-0, then a fumble recovery just outside the red zone to set the O up for a possible 17-0 lead. Bender overthrows two wide open TD passes leading to a FG try. Kick is blocked and returned for a TD by Rutgers, 10-7 KU.

O has yet to do anything despite the great positioning the D has given them.

D has come to play.
O has yet to show any life.

Rutgers is not a good team. This is the last game KU will be favored in for the rest of this year.

Well, yes, they can -- but I really do need to be more specific in my questions.
Two 10 yard holding penalties - the first wiping out a TD for Pooka Williams - take them out of "and goal" position, and then the FG try is AGAIN blocked because the holder can't handle the ball for a second straight FG opportunity!

At least this time it wasn't returned for a score.

Man, if the O was playing anything like the D it would be 45-0!

Bowen's crew playing impressively in the last 6 quarters.

After Rutgers' offense finally managed to score against the KU D, the KU offense responded with Khalil Herbert taking his first run of the game 59 yards to the house!

KU 31-14 with 2:29 to go in the first half.

Chris Harris in the season opener, now Todd between Q1 and Q2. The Texas Gunslinger returns to Memorial for the honor, gives what he calls in a halftime interview "my last official fist pump" to the crowd and KU responds to lead Rutgers 31-14 at the half.

Plus has been the sterling play of the D.

The O has shone moments, but clearly still needs a QB. Bender missed two wide open TD passes that would have resulted in a 45-7 score at the half if completed. The rushing game has been the savior, 168 yds on 21 carries, but 59 of that was on Khalil Herbert's 59 yard first touch of the game in Q2. GOT to do better!

Almost time for the start of the second half, and KU gets the ball first.
