What a difference two weeks make. After losing 3 home games to WVU, to blow them out yesterday was great. The pitching, hitting and defense were all superb. Let's see if we can make some noise in the NCAA championship.

KU beat Northeastern 6/3. Game was at 4/3 and KU fans started to get nervous but the extra two runs made everyone more comfortable. Voeggle got the win while Rahe got the save.

Important game today vs Arkansas. Win today and we have a higher probability of going on to the Super Regional.

The regionals are a double elimination format.

Each regional features a No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 seed.
The standard progression of the double-elimination format plays out as follow

Game 1: The No. 1 seed plays the No. 4 seed, and the No. 2 seed plays the No. 3 seed.Game 2 (Winners Bracket):

The two Game 1 winners face off.Game 3 (Elimination Bracket): The two Game 1 losers face off. The loser of this game is eliminated from the tournament.

Game 4: The loser of the Winners Bracket plays the winner of the Elimination Bracket. The loser of this game is eliminated.Game 5:

The winner of the Winners Bracket plays the winner of Game 4.Game 6 (If necessary): If the winner of Game 4 hands the winner of the Winners Bracket their first loss of the regional, a sudden-death Game 6 is played to determine the winner.

Regional champs. On to the Super Regional. Amazing game. Down 5/0 early but came back and our closers, closed. Fitzgerald pushed all the right buttons.

Jayhawk Radio coverage can again be found at kuathletics.leanplayer.com/
coverage starting at 4:45 PM CDT today (rain delay? It just stopped here a few minutes ago, a little after 4PM CDT)
for those preferring to hear the announcers actually talk about the game amd our guys.

Otherwise stick with ESPN2 video and audio at 5 PM CDT.

Must win today. OU pitcher yesterday was VERY GOOD. Weather predictions not good for this PM. There may be a chance that we will have to play a double header tomorrow. Regardless of the score/s, great and fun season for the Hawks.

Rough weekend, OU is hot and the Hawks well not so much. But such is baseball. It stinks that the games were not competitive as OU is not 21 -3 better than KU, but in many ways it makes it easier to flush. Amazing season, congrats to everyone involved with the baseball program. NCAAT should be the expectation from this season forward.
