#THE SENIOR GAME sending off Udoka and Isaiah (Mitch red shirting his senior season).
The Jayhawks under Larry Brown (5 seasons, 1983-88) and Roy Williams (15 seasons, 1988-2003)
never lost a Senior Game, and Bill Self's teams have expanded that streak to 36 years running.
Ted Owens was the last KANSAS coach to lose a Senior Game (Mar 2, 1983: NU 60 KU 58)
Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)

And thus ended the dream for another possible NCAA National Championship.

KU 86, Fort Hays State 56

Solid start, especially given Devon and Isaiah sitting out due to niggling injuries.

Updated the OP for the win against ETSU.

For a while there tonight the team looked like a shoo-in NCAA Final Four team. Then they hit a patch in H2 where they just looked inept. Expand that H1 performance and minimize -- preferably DELETE -- that second half stretch, fellas!

Also inserted the link to the Big12sports.com MEN'S BASKETBALL EXPANDED STANDINGS for 2019-20.
Big 12 doing good so far this year. Only KU, Baylor and ISU have lost a game as I write this update.

You know someone loved putting KU at the bottom on the list for at least a little while this year.

Tuesday night's game included several items of note aside from the beat down the Jayhawks put on the Panthers.

Last night was Division 1 hoops game #900 in Self's Hall of Fame coaching career.
All time he is 688-212 for a 76.4% winning percentage, and will reach 700 career wins with 12 more KANSAS victories this season.

He will coach game #600 in his KANSAS career on Saturday, Feb 1 when KANSAS hosts Texas Tech.
(I personally would have preferred the serendipity of #600 being a game earlier against OSU in Stillwater, but as Agent 86 used to say, "Missed it by that much!")

If you have been checking out the post-game updates to his record elsewhere in the pinned threads, you will know that his current KANSAS career record is 481-107 for a 81.8% winning percentage as our head men's hoops coach, just 109 wins away from a tie with the career record of the inimitable Forrest C. "Phog" Allen (590-219, 72.9%) Link: Bill Self KU Won-Lost record

And if you have been reading any of the post game articles (see below), you know that with the UW-Milwaukee win KANSAS is just the second Division 1 team to record 300 or more wins in the decade from 2010 through 2019. With three more games to go before 2020 rolls onto the scene, the KANSAS decade record so far is 300-67. Only Gonzaga, at 304-54 as of yesterday, has done better the last ten years.

Link to KU AD video "300". You will recognize some faces there from the last ten years despite the big "300" shaped window we must look through to see them.

Here's some more post-victory reading if you are so inclined...

5. KUAthletics video: Top Plays versus Milwaukee
6. KUAthletics video: Teddy Bear Toss - Milwaukee
7. ESPN Recap: KANSAS v UW-Milwaukee
8. Wichita Eagle - Bedore: Udoka Azubuike’s work on boards pleases KU’s Self: ‘Last night he totally dominated’
9. Wichita Eagle - Bedore: Ochai Agbaji scores 22 against parents’ alma mater as KU wins 300th game of decade
10. CBSSports.com: No. 2 Kansas rides hot start to 95-68 win over UW-Milwaukee

Next up -- KANSAS versus the UMKC Kangaroos for the annual Jayhawk Shootout at The Sprint Center.

Sat Dec 14 UM-Kansas City Sprint Center 4 PM ESPN+
NOTE WELL - because I noted a different game time reported in at least one of the KUAD articles, I double checked to ensure that this time is correct. Please note that ESPN lists this game in the KANSAS schedule as a 3:30 start time, but that start time has to include the pregame show on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Everywhere else but there (and that one KUAD article stating a 7 PM start time) shows a 4:00 PM Central start time for the game.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK KU!

LOL!

I thought of that around noon and decided it was too late to put it up.

But I guess it’s never too late as long as it’s before the tip-off! So...

Today our Jayhawks open their Big 12 season schedule by welcoming the Mountaineers for another ALLEN FIELDHOUSE

Good to start the conference season with a W, especially when playing at AFH! Twenty nine (29) straight wins to open the conference season, a streak that started in the 1991-92 Big 8 season [last conference season opener loss was Jan 8 1991 (OU won 88-82 in Norman); the streak started Jan 13 1992 at The Hellmouth (KU 92, mOO 80)].

Wasn't the prettiest game, especially in H1, but the lads persevered and brought home the win in the end. Udoka came through big in H2, finishing the game with a team leading 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Big, big H2 for UA, especially with WVU freshman big Oscar Tschiebwa being held to 2 points in H2 to keep him at 17 for WVU for the game (WVU high).

... and our gritty Jayhawks are on their first conference road trip of the season for another Hilton Coliseum...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

7:00 PM CT on ESPN+, KU (11-2, 1-0) @ ISU (7-6, 0-1). Game voices will be Mark Neely (play-by-play) and Lance Blanks (analyst). (Be sure to catch the pregame show on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Good fun, plus a pregame check that the ESPN+ app is working. We just bought a new TV, and apparently getting it set up screwed something up, as I had to log out and log back in to both ESPN+ and my provider (DirecTV) for every device that I use the app on before I could watch anything).

The Cyclones are having a down year so far, but they can never be counted out in Hilton, where they are 6-2 so far this season (0-2 away, 1-2 neutral).

The ESPN pregame matchup prediction favors KU by 6.5 points, 67.5% to 32.5%.
