... did you know that Saturday is another KANSAS...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!
(The "ringing off the hook" Hawk Phone for these day games is back ordered, so I'm going to stick with the night game Hawk Signal until the phone arrives! And thanks to my supplier jaythawk1 & Son for taking on the task of creating it!)

Saturday starting at 1:00 PM CT on the Jayhawk Network and ESPN+, for the first time in history our KANSAS JAYHAWKS will play the Mid-American Conference Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Jayhawks return to the friendly confines of venerable Allen Fieldhouse to face their final non-con foe before Big 12 play begins next week (KU hosts OU in AFH on Wednesday Jan 2). Saturday's game voices for the Jayhawk Network and ESPN+ will be Dave Armstrong (play-by-play) and former Jayhawk walk-on & later Creighton Blue Jay Nick Bahe (analysis), with Kennetra Pulliams doing the game courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 11-1, while the Eagles (6-6) are hoping to climb back above .500 with their 2nd win in a row. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor gives the Eagles just over a 2% chance to succeed. (Fun fact: the 1996 Eagles were seeded 9th in the NCAA tournament and beat this nondescript program from Durham NC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Sweetness!:woohoo: )

Wednesday is KU's first conference...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

8:00 PM CT on ESPN2 the Sooners invade The Phog for the conference season openers for both teams. Wednesday's game voices will be Bob Wischusen on play-by-play and analysis from Fran Fraschilla. No word on who will be doing the courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 12-1 and 1-0, while the Sooners are looking for those numbers themselves. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Jayhawks by better than 3-1 (Chance of success: KU 76%, OU 24%)

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics: Kansas has won a mindboggling 27-straight conference openers dating back to the 1991-92 season with 10 of those in Allen Fieldhouse and 17 on the road. The last time KU lost a conference opener was at Oklahoma, 88-82, on Jan. 8, 1991. Since 1991-92, KU and OU have played twice in the KU league opener – 1993-94 at KU and 2013-14 at OU.

A solid start to the conference season. Could have been better on O, D was pretty darn good.

Wondering how many folks betting KU to cover the spread are unhappy with that last KU possession?
The spread was 8.5 points, right?

One of the reasons I don't bet, I can just be happy KU won!

On to hopefully another KU victory in Ames this Saturday!

... another KANSAS...

... BALL DAY!
(The "ringing off the hook" Hawk Phone is up and ringing thanks to jaythawk1's #1 Son!)

Saturday on ESPN2 -- starting mercifully at 4:00 PM CT (12:00 PM Aloha Time so asteroid gets to sleep in a little this time around) -- our beloved Boys in Blue will be up north to tackle a little Hilton Magic for game 2 of their 2019 Big XIII schedule. Game voices will be Mark Neely on play-by-play and analysis from Fran Fraschilla. No word on who will be doing the courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 13-1 and 2-0, while the Cyclones are looking for 12-2 and 2-0. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Cyclones at home 60%-40%, but the point spread is only 1 point, so it really is closer to a tossup.

Ugh. I really am not a superstitious fellow, but I did notice (and laugh) at KU's last win giving Self 666 career wins.

Here's to Self getting off that "evil" number next Wednesday hosting the Horned Frogs.

Ugh, what a game today...:pinch:

TCU's in town for another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

8:00 PM CT on ESPN2 the Horned Frogs invade The Phog as KU looks to rebound from it's first Big 12 loss of the season. Wednesday's game voices will be Bob Wischusen on play-by-play, analysis from Fran Fraschilla, and Kris Budden doing the courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 13-2 and 2-1, while the 12-1 Horned Frogs look to improve to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 play. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Jayhawks by almost 4-1 (chance of success: KU 78.3%, OU 21.7%). KU is favored by 6.5 points.

In case you missed it, this game will mark the debut of KU frosh Ochai Agbaji. The 6-5/210 wing doffs his redshirt as Self & Co look to go with a 4 guard lineup for the rest of the season with the injury to Udoka Azubuike. All the best to the lad!

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics
• When the game following a loss is in Allen Fieldhouse, KU is 47-3 in the Self era.
• Kansas leads the overall series with TCU, 16-2, including a 7-0 record in Lawrence and 6-0 in Allen Fieldhouse.
• KU leads TCU 2-1 in the last three meetings with all three outcomes being decided by seven points or less.

TCU Senior PG Jaylen Fisher is still suffering from the ailing right knee that has not healed completely since tearing the meniscus last January. He missed the Horned Frogs' 85-81 victory over Baylor to open Big 12 play, no word yet if he is out or "go" for tonight.

TCU Junior F Yuat Alok (6-11/225) will miss his 4th straight game after breaking his wrist (the #1 JUCO transfer for 2018 was averaging 13.1 minutes per game until his injury).

Word on another board is that around lunchtime today the TCU play-by-play voice was saying that Fisher was out for tonight.

In his lead-in presser, Self noted KU was preparing as if Fisher would play.

Perhaps something of a break for KU, but it is noteworthy that Fisher's redshirt freshman sub has done well in Fischer's absence. In the win over Baylor, 6-4 R.J. Nembhard played 33 minutes, carding 10 points and 3 assists

Hoping for a big win tonight at home after the embarrassing road loss in Ames..

... the Jayhawks come to town for another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!!

3:00 PM CT on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks invade the Ferrell Center (cap.10,284) as KU looks to capture it's first Big 12 road win of the season. Saturday's game voices will be Rich Hollenberg on play-by-play, with analysis from Fran Fraschilla. No word on who will be doing the courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 14-2 and 3-1, while the 9-5 Bears are looking for their 10th win and to improve to 2-1 in Big 12 play. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor gives the Jayhawks a 58% chance to win. No spread available at post time.

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics
• Although Baylor won last year's Ferrell Center game, KU is 12-3 there all-time (30-5 v BU all-time, 22-4 v Scott Drew's Bears).
• BU is seeking its first ever consecutive win against KU.
• Vick is 6 points short of being the 61st Jayhawk to score 1000 in his KU career (16th 1000 pointer for Self).
• With its Wednesday win against TCU, Kansas is 87-11 following a loss in the Bill Self era. Since 2013-14, the Jayhawks are 37-3 following a loss. When the game following a loss is in Allen Fieldhouse, KU is 48-3 in the Self era.
• Not-so-fun fact: with its two losses at Arizona State and ISU, KU is still searching for its first true road game win of the season. Get 'er done, Jayhawks!

... in Lawrence on another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!
(NB: Mostly clear skies predicted for Lawrence tonight!)

8:00 PM CT on ESPN the Longhorns invade The Phog as KU looks to keep pace with the 4-0 Red Raiders, who branded the Longhorns (OWNED!) last Saturday in Austin (the Longhorns 22-game home win streak against Texas Tech, dating to the final season of the Southwest Conference, was halted with the Red Raiders Saturday win in Austin). Monday's game voices will be Bob Wischusen (play-by-play), Fran Fraschilla (analyst) and Holly Rowe reporting from courtside (you go girl, great to have you in house again!).

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 15-2 and 4-1, while the 10-1 (2-2) Longhorns look to break a two game losing streak by earning Shaka Smart his first ever Big 12 win against KU (2015 to today: 0-6). The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Jayhawks 83% to 17%. KU is favored by 8 points.

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• Kansas leads Texas all time 31-8; 16-1 in Lawrence, 14-1 in Allen Fieldhouse (15-7 "deep in the heart of Texas").
• KU has won the last nine meetings. Caveat: the last three games have been decided by 10 points or less.
• KU has won 30-straight Big Monday games in Allen Fieldhouse.
• KU has won its last 10 ESPN Big Monday contests.
• Smart's overall Big 12 record (2015-16 to date) is 25-33.

tu freshman forward Jaxson Hayes (6-11, 220) leads the Big 12 in FG% at 74.7%. He's recorded tu leading 2.5 blocks per game, and is second on team with 10.1 PPG and 5.1 RBG

tu sophomore guards are playing well in conference. Matt Coleman has 19 assists against three turnovers, while Jase Febres is averaging 11 points on 55.2% shooting.

... in Morgantown on another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!!
(Here's recognition to but no apologies for riffing off of the TV show theme for "The Real McCoys" in addition to our usual "Batman" homage for this edition!)
(Yeah, I'm *that* old that I remember that stuff from first showings!:P )

asteroid has to be in retrograde again with yet another early afternoon Jayhawks game!

1:00 PM CT (9:00 AM HT) on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks invade the mountains of West Virginia and WVU Coliseum (capacity 14,000) in their quest for yet another Big XII road win short term and NCAA record 15th straight conference regular season title long term. KU looks to stay atop the conference while WVU desperately looks to earn its first Big XII win of the season. Saturday's game voices will be Dave Flemming on play-by-play, with analysis from Fran Fraschilla. No word on who will be doing the courtside reporting.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 16-2 and 5-1 while the Mountaineers hope to get back to .500 overall (9-9) and 1-5 in conference play -- and help Huggie Bear get another $25K "Beat Bill Self Bonus". (Full and fair disclosure - Huggins donates those bonuses in his mother's name to cancer research.) The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor gives the Jayhawks a 66% chance to win. No spread available at post time.

And, of course, there is the BIG QUESTION that all Kansas fans want an answer to -- will Silvio De Sousa be cleared to play by the NCAA, and will it be in time for Saturday's game? (Here's to knowing the answer to this question by the end of Friday, if you please NCAA!)

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics
• Kansas leads the overall series with West Virginia, 10-4, and has won the last four meetings.
• But the Moutaineers hold a 4-2 advantage against Kansas in games played in WVU Coliseum.
• Four of the last five KU-WVU clashes have been decided by eight points or less.
• Kansas is 90-39 in Big 12 road games under HCBS, including 1-1 this season. KU’s winning percentage (69.8%) in league road games since 2003-04 is the best among teams in the six major conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC).
• A Sporting News Midseason All-America First Team selection, Dedric Lawson leads the Big 12 in rebounding at 10.6 rpg and double-doubles (11) and is the only player in the league averaging a double-double. He is vying to become the first Jayhawk to lead the league in rebound average since All-American Thomas Robinson in 2011-12.
• After its 80-78 win against Texas on Jan. 14, Kansas is 37-3 in conference games decided by 10 points or less since 2016.

KU Athletics: No. 7 Kansas set for trek to West Virginia
KU Athletics Game Day Notes: KU @WVU
ESPN: No. 7 Kansas looks to keep WVU winless in Big 12

The Cyclones are in Lawrence for another Big Monday...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

8:00 PM CT on ESPN the Cyclones blow into The Phog in a four way tie atop the Big XII with Texas Tech, KSU and KU. KU looks to stay tied for the Big XII lead with the winner of Tuesday's Texas Tech @KSU game by avenging the drubbing taken from the Cyclones earlier this month in Ames. Monday's game voices will be Bob Wischusen (play-by-play), Fran Fraschilla (analyst) and Holly Rowe reporting from courtside (my personal fave!).

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 16-3 and 5-2, while the 14-4 (4-2) Cyclones look to extend their two game winning streak which began with a road victory over then Big XII leader Texas Tech last Wednesday in Lubbock. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Jayhawks 72% to 28%, which I find amazing given the game in Ames and how evenly matched the two teams appear to be. KU is favored by 5.5 points.

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• Kansas leads the series with Iowa State, 181-65, including a 93-16 record in games played in Lawrence (52-10 in Allen Fieldhouse).
• KU is 13-2 versus ISU in Allen Fieldhouse under Bill Self beginning in 2004.
• Since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97, Kansas is 66-18 all-time on ESPN Big Monday (38-1 at home and 28-17 on the road), including 46-12 under head coach Bill Self (27-0 at home and 19-12 on the road).
• KU has won 31-straight Big Monday games in Allen Fieldhouse.
• Overall, KU has won its last 11 ESPN Big Monday contests.
• Kansas is 87-11 following a loss in the Bill Self era. Since 2013-14, the Jayhawks are 37-3 following a loss.
• When the game following a loss is in Allen Fieldhouse, KU is 48-3 in the Self era, including 2-0 this season.
• Iowa State is vying to become only the second team to sweep Kansas in the Bill Self era. In 103 regular-season Big 12 home-and-home series, Kansas has 70 sweeps, 32 splits and has been swept once, by Oklahoma State (who else?) in 2017-18.
• Kansas is 37-4 in conference games decided by 10 points or less since 2016.

For ISU, Virginia transfer guard Marial Shayock is averaging 19.4 points for the season.
Sophomore forward Cam Lard returned in the 72-59 home win over Oklahoma State after missing two games with a sprained ankle, Providing a strong inside presence, he had 12 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots in just 14 minutes.

... but this game begins after the sun has set on Lexington, heralding another Clash of the Titans... .

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

5:00 PM CT on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks take court in Rupp Arena for the annual SEC-Big XII Challenge game, this year against Kansas step-child Kentucky basketball. (Thankfully it's a late enough start that asteroid doesn't have to make a Dawn Patrol wake up time for today's game.). Game voices will be Dan Shulman (play-by-play), Jay Bilas (analyst - yeah!) and Holly Rowe shares reporting from courtside with Maria Taylor.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 17-3, while the 15-3 Wildcats look to extend their series leading 22-9 record against Kansas. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors the Wildcats 69% to 31%, with "the other KU" being favored by 6.5 points.

Oh, by the way, be advised (surprise, surprise... NOT!) ESPN's College Game Day (ESPN and ESPNU at 10:00 AM CT Saturday morning) is coming from Rupp Arena this Saturday.

Fun facts courtesy of yours truly, KU Athletics and ESPN
• The top-two winningest programs in NCAA Division I college basketball history meet for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
• Kentucky is first at 2,278 wins and Kansas second at 2,264 victories. The blue-blood programs have also combined for 32 Final Fours with Kentucky at 17 and Kansas at 15.
• Kansas trails in the series 9-22, but is 8-8 in the modern era beginning after Ted Owens (ATO, starting AY1983-84).
• Before Larry Brown (1-1 in AFH, winning in AY1985-86, 0-1 @Rupp), Kansas was 1-14 against UK: Phog Allen 0-1 (1950-12-16, 68-39 @UK); Dick Harp 0-1 (1959-12-14, 77-72 in OT @AFH); and Ted 1-12 (1-7 AFH, 0-3 @UK, 0-2 in Louisville).
• Roy Williams was 1-3 (1989 150-95 win against Rick Pitino in AFH, 0-1 Rupp, 0-2 1998-99 against Tubby Smith in Great 8 and NCAAs)
• Kansas is 2-7 in Lexington (Self 2-0); 2-4 in Rupp (2-2 ATO) and 0-3 in Freedom Hall.
• KU is 6-3 versus UK under Bill Self (since AY2003-04), 3-3 Self v Squid, Self having won the last 3 games.
• Saturday will mark the 17th time KU has been a part of a College GameDay show. Kansas is 11-5 all time when it is one of the two teams featured on GameDay.
• Kentucky will be the third top-10 team Kansas will face in 2018-19, with the Jayhawks 2-0 in the previous meetings (92-87 vs. then-No. 10 Michigan State and 87-82 vs. then-No. 5 Tennessee).
• Kansas has won 13 straight against AP top-10 opponents in the regular season, a streak which started Jan. 4, 2016, and is the longest active streak in NCAA Division I.
• Kansas is 4-1 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, which began in 2013. Two of those victories include wins over Kentucky, the first a 90-84 overtime win in Lawrence in 2016 and the second a 79-73 win in Lexington in 2017. The Big 12 has won the Challenge three times (‘13-14, ‘14-15, ‘15-16), it was tied in ‘16-17, and the SEC claimed the challenge last season.

. was loss #100 as KUHC for Self.

At least it doesn't affect the conference race.

Would love a chance to play them again in the NCAAs!
They are beatable, we just didn't do it tonight.

... but our Jayhawks are hoping to have a hot time in the old town of Austin on this...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

6:00 PM CT on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks look to corral and brand Bevo for yet another win in the Frank Erwin Center (16,540) as they resume Big XII conference play tonight. Game voices will be Jon Sciambi (play-by-play) and Jay Bilas (analyst - yeah again!). No word on who will be the courtside reporter.

Our Jayhawks look to garner just their second true road game win of the season to extend their AY2018-19 record to 17-4 (6-2), while the 11-9 (3-4) Longhorns look to end a two game losing streak and get back to .500 in conference play with Shaka Smart's first win over Bill Self since that infamous Southwest Regional final in March 2011. SInce his arrival at tu for AY2014-15, the Longhorns are 0-7 against Kansas. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors KU 53% to 47%, with a mere 1 point spread.

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• Kansas has won 10 straight against Texas and leads the overall series 32-8.
• KU is on a 4-0 run in Austin, and is 10-6 overall against the Longhorns, all in the Erwin Center.
• Kansas is 37-4 in conference games decided by 10 points or less since 2016.
• Kansas is 88-11 following a loss in the Bill Self era, including 3-0 this season.
• Since 2013-14, the Jayhawks are 38-3 following a loss.
• Kansas is 90-40 (69.2 percent) in Big 12 road games under Bill Self, since 2003-04, including 1-2 this season
• Marcus Garrett has led KU in steals each of the last four games and eight times this season. He is second in the Big 12 in steals
at 1.8 per game, pilfering 14 roundballs in the last four contests.

... I'm just not in the mood to do the pregame stuff for Saturday's Texas Tech game. Sorry.

My condolences to Silvio.

I would love to seem him play for KU again one day, but that seems highly unlikely now.

I wholeheartedly support him in his upcoming life decisions, wherever they take him.

Rock Chalk, young man, we just love ya and wish you all the best from this crushing low point forward!

... looking to leave Manhattan with another W after another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

8:00 PM CT on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks enter Bramlage Coliseum (12,528) working toward heading home after the game with a win over the Wildcats and hopefully a tie for first in the Big XII conference race with KSU and Baylor (who will be playing the Longhorns in Austin starting at 7:00 PM CT on the Longhorn Network). Jon Sciambi will do the play-by-play, while Stan Van Gundy and Chauncey Billups share the analysis. No word on who will be the courtside reporter.

Our Jayhawks are still looking for just their second true road game win of the season (second in five tries in conference) to make their AY2018-19 record 18-5 (7-3), while the 16-5 (6-2) Wildcats look to stay atop the Big XII, either all by themselves or tied with Baylor if the Bears can pull off the road win in Austin. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors KU 56% to 44%. (no point spread available at post time).
EDIT: Although the Matchup Predictor algorithm slightly favors KU, as of Monday evening KSU is a 1 point favorite. Ah, that old home court advantage... plus learning that Garrett is out for Tuesday. - HE

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• Streaking Kansas State has won 6 straight conference games (yes, Dean Wade means that much to them).
• The game is part of ESPN’s annual college basketball/NBA announcer crossover, hence the presence of Stan Van Gundy and Chauncey Billups instead of the usually present Fran Fraschilla.
• KU leads the overall series with Kansas State, 196-93, including a 26-4 record in Bramlage Coliseum.
• KU has won the last eight matchups and 57 of the last 62 meetings since Feb. 12, 1994,
• Kansas is 37-5 in conference games decided by 10 points or less since 2016, including 5-2 this season.
• Kansas is 88-11 following a loss in the Bill Self era, including 3-0 this season.
• With its win against Texas Tech (2/2), KU is 89-12 following a loss in the Bill Self era, including 4-1 this season. Since 2013-14, the Jayhawks are 39-4 following a loss.
• Kansas is 90-41 (68.7 percent) in Big 12 road games under Bill Self since 2003-04, but just 1-3 this season
• Dedric Lawson has 4 double-doubles in his last 5 games, with 7 of his 15 double-doubles in Big 12 play.
• Dedric is tied for second nationally with 15 double-doubles.
• Dedric leads the Big XII in scoring at 19.5ppg and rebounds with 10.9rpg.
• Dedric is the only Big XII player averaging a dub-dub.
• Following his career-high 24 points at Texas (1/29), freshman G Ochai Agbaji had his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Texas Tech (2/2).

Wichita Eagle: Beating KU in ‘bucket-list game’ would mean the world to K-State basketball seniors Seniors Barry Brown, Kamau Stokes and Dean Wade have yet to beat Kansas. They have at least two more tries, starting Tuesday night in Bramlage. Nothing like an added incentive for both teams!

... as our Boys in Blue return home for another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!

11:00 AM CT Saturday on ESPN2 (I can hear the groans of asteroid bouncing off the ionosphere at the early start) our beloved Jayhawks host Self alma mater and perennial pest Oklahoma State Cowboys in venerable Allen Fieldhouse (perhaps better known to the college basketball world as "The Phog"). Mark Neely will do the play-by-play, while Fran Fraschila provides the analysis (and it's not a bad thing to turn down the sound, people, I do it all the time these days). No word on who will be the courtside reporter.

Our Jayhawks try to right the ship and up their AY2018-19 record to 18-6 (7-4), while the 9-13 (2-7) Cowboys continue their usual role of wannabe spoiler against our Jayhawks and look to beat KU in AFH for a second year in a row after last year's 84-79 upset. The ESPN pregame Match-up Predictor favors KU 93% to 7% (no point spread available at post time).

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• This will be KU's first game without Lagerald Vick, who has taken a leave of absence to deal with personal issues.
• Marcus Garrett is projected to miss this game as he recovers from his high ankle sprain.
• This will be KU's first game without Udoka, Lagerald and Silvio, all of whom were anticipated to be major contributors this season.
• KU leads the overall series with Oklahoma State, 114-59, including a 47-10 record in AFH.
• OSU is vying to become the first Big 12 school to win back-to-back games in AFH since ISU did it in 2000 and 2001.
• Prior to ISU, the previous times were during the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons by Oklahoma and Kansas State.
• Kansas’ 17 game home court winning streak, which includes 16 victories in Allen Fieldhouse and one at Sprint Center, is tops in the Big 12 and tied for sixth nationally.
• Kansas is 89-12 following a loss in the Bill Self era, including 4-1 this season.
• Since 2013-14, the Jayhawks are 39-4 following a loss.
• Redshirt-junior F Dedric Lawson has posted four double-doubles in his last six games.
• Six of his 15 double-doubles have been in Big 12 play.
• Dedric is tied for second nationally with 15 double-doubles.
• Dedric leads the Big XII in scoring at 19.4ppg and rebounds with 10.8rpg.
• Dedric is the only Big XII player averaging a dub-dub.

... and yet another ESPN Big Monday...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

8:00 PM CT on ESPN our beloved Jayhawks enter Schollmaier Arena (6,800) to battle TCU. Bob Wischusen will do the play-by-play and Fran Fraschilla is back to do the analysis (and there goes my MUTE button again!). KU Fan Fave Holly Rowe (HOL-LY! HOL-LY!) will be our courtside reporter (UNMUTE that gal!).

Our Jayhawks are still looking for just their second true road game win of the season (second in six tries in conference) to make their AY2018-19 record 19-6 (8-4), while the 17-6 (5-5) Horned Frogs realistically look to improve their game for the postseason (although I wouldn't tell them that, they still have big dreams of a KSU collapse coupled with them closing out the conference season on a big winning streak). The ESPN Basketball Power Index pregame Match-up Predictor has this as a tossup, KU 51% to TCU 49%, but the point spread favors TCU by 3.

Fun facts courtesy of KU Athletics and ESPN
• At 7-4, Kansas is tied with Texas Tech and Iowa State for second in the Big 12 race, 1.5 games behind
Kansas State (8-2).
• TCU is one of 7 Big 12 teams within 2.5 games of the league leader.
• Since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97, Kansas is 67-18 all-time on ESPN Big Monday (39-1 at home and 28-17 on the road)
• Under head coach Bill Self KU is 47-12 on Big Monday, 28-0 at home and 19-12 on the road.
• KU has won its last 12 Big Monday contests (32-straight in AFH, but tonight is not in The Phog).
• KU leads the overall series with TCU 17-2, 6-1 in Fort Worth.
• KU won the TCU game in AFH 77-68 back on January 9.
• Kansas started four freshmen against Oklahoma State (2/9) for only the second time in the Bill Self era.
• Dedric Lawson has 13 games of 20 or more points this season.
• Lawson leads the Big 12 in scoring at 19.6 ppg and rebounding at 10.6 rpg.
• He is the only player in the conference averaging a double-double.
• Ochai Agbaji is averaging 9.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game following his 23 points and six rebounds against Oklahoma State.
• Agbaji’s collegiate debut came 10 games ago against TCU in AFH.
