Lynn Pride is a tremendous athlete who sometimes is not a very smart basketball player. She often makes bad choices on the court and attempts to compensate with her athleticism (which she often can). I have been impressed by the adjustments the staff has made on the floor. They have done a decent job with the talent they have.
That said, I have been severely disappointed in Marian's recruiting efforts or the the lack thereof. My impression is that she is not involved in the evaluation and selection process. She doesn't know the players within the state, and I doubt whether she knows the players nationally. The last two recruiting classes have been pathetic. Watching Kristen Geoffrey catch a pass, take a drop step and trip over her own feet against Nebraska typlifies the talent in the freshman and sophomore classes. KU gets no help off the bench, and this year could our last appearance in the NCAA tournament for sometime to come. In short, its time for Marian to retire. We need a coach dedicated to building a top tier program and selling women's basketball to the fans.
