Verballed Purdue Over: Kansas, Washington State, Illinois, DePaul
6/14/01 - Apparently KU has made Chris a strong priority. Jayhawk Slant had an article recently on Chris. Kansas is rumored to be the leader for Chris whose recruitment from junior college as a priority rather than a late fill is a departure from previous KU recruiting trends. As a freshman last year, Chris averaged 9.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg for 28 games. He shot 50% FG, 41% for treys and 80% FT.
7/9/01 - More reports are making it sound like KU has a real shot at Chris. A all around great sounding young man who has shown real potential on the court. Working this summer to make additional funds for school and working on his game, he won't make it to KU for an unofficial visit. Sounds like a solid citizen any school (or parent) would be proud of - and a great basketball player to boot! We can hope he attends one of the summer JC camps for further news, typically held in Tulsa, OK, but it may not happen.
7/17/01 - All the reports are sounding good concerning Chris in many ways. Good in that he is a great kid. Good in that he has tremondous work ethic. Good in that he will definitely visit KU and has an offer by KU. Good in that despite a strong program like Purdue, KU seems to be clearly his leader. Good in that his family favors KU. Good in that this all is good!! This could be KU's first (official) commitment this fall after school starts.
8/16/01 - It appears that KU is really trying to bring Chris in for Late Night but he seems to want to make an early commitment prior to his season starting. He has a new head coach so there are factors involved here that make the situation difficult to read. Bobby Knight with T-Tech is now involved. Purdue, Kansas, Washington State are the other primary schools.
8/21/01 - Unless KU shows more interest, Chris has narrowed his list to those schools that have made a solid offer - Purdue, Texas Tech, Washington State and Louisville according to a LJW report.
