Linked article written by Matt Tait is actually from last Friday, but it summarizes the latest news as of this posting.
KUSports.com - Tait: KU makes top 4 for Georgia transfer Sahvir Wheeler

Scuttlebutt since Friday leans TyTy Washington to kensucky and Wheeler to KANSAS.

Still waiting on Rivals final recruiting ranking update for this season, due out any day now.

Also of note on Wheeler is discussion on the net that everyone who has seen Wheeler play says you take him if you can get him.

That is all (for now)...

Stay tuned, we will know soon enough...

Published today.

All KU HS recruits dropped in the final Rivals rankings...

Zach Clemence from 35 to 46 (ESPN 34; 247Sports 44)

KJ Adams from 73 to 90 (ESPN 46; 247Sports 68)

Kyle Cuffe Jr’s first 2021 ranking is 106, a huge drop from his 2022 ranking in the 30s (247Sports 102; not ranked by ESPN for 2021 since he reclassified from 2022).

Bobby Pettiford dropped from 115 to 121 (ESPN 90; 247Sports 92)

Use to be KU recruits got bumps, not dumps.

Be glad when this NCAA stuff is settled.

The OP has been updated to include the 3 names I am currently aware of in the Transfers table, and to record the commitment and signing of Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA) walk-on PF Dillon Wilhite (6-9, 235), grandson of Joanie Stephens, long time admin assistant to HCBS.

The following blurbs come from ESPN+ EXCLUSIVE CONTENT College basketball transfer rankings for 2021-22

1. Remy Martin, 6-0, 175 lbs., PG, Sr., Arizona State
Martin will likely be a preseason all-conference selection wherever he ends up. A two-time first-team All-Pac-12 pick, Martin averaged 19.1 points each of the past two seasons.

15. Sahvir Wheeler, 5-10, 180 lbs., PG, Soph., Georgia
One of the elite passers in college basketball, Wheeler was a second-team All-SEC player after averaging 14.0 points and 7.4 assists this past season. He led the SEC and ranked fourth nationally in assists.

37. Bryce Hamilton, 6-4, 205 lbs., SG, Jr., UNLV
Hamilton was second-team All-Mountain West after averaging 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He's a big-time scorer. Some schools linked to him have been Oregon, Kansas, UConn and Kentucky.

======

The recruiting gurus had been heavy on Wheeler going to kensucky, but since TyTy Washington's commitment there last week all has been silent on the Wheeler front. Competition is listed as KU, UK, LSU and OKSt.

I haven't seen much of anything on Hamilton, he seems to be playing things close to the vest.

Remy Martin had been looking at going pro, but just recently put his name in the transfer portal (5 days ago, May 11). I'm hoping he wants to come to KU. Hard to pass up a two time first team All Pac 12 player if he does.

ROCK CHALK, RCBers!

Shay Wildeboor (JayhawkSlant) on walk-on Dillon Wilhite..

kansas.forums.rivals.com/threads/just-ha...illon-wilhite.96214/

I just talked to Dillon Wilhite, the 6-foot-9, 245-pound center from Cathedral Catholic in San Diego, Calif. First off, Dillon has decided to join the University of Kansas men's basketball program as a preferred walk-on. He had scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, Boston University, and Navy, but ultimately made the decision to attend Kansas. Other schools were involved as well, but the main schools were the ones that extended scholarship offers.

For those that don't know, Dillon grew up a huge Kansas fan and comes from a family of big Jayhawk supporters and lovers. His grandmother, Joanie Wilhite Stephens, has worked in the athletic department for over 40 years. His father, Brad Wilhite, was a golfer at Lawrence High and then at TCU. Currently, Dillon has two sisters that play volleyball at Georgetown. He's attended Coach Self's summer camp and has made the trip back to Kansas to see family and attend games.

Currently, Wilhite is averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game for Cathedral Catholic. Once his season is completed, he'll make the move to Lawrence and report for summer school on June 8. Growing up, he said some of his favorite players were the Morris twins, Thomas Robinson, and Cole Aldrich. He's looking forward to working with KU's big men and is willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. This is a young man that is looking forward to coming in, putting in the work, helping the team however he can, and expecting, at some point down the line, to earn some minutes.

When he talked to Coach Self about his decision, he (Wilhite) couldn't have been more excited. Self welcomed him to the family and made him feel like one of the guys.

KUSports.com - Tait: Georgia transfer Sahvir Wheeler picks Kentucky

Won't bother me at all should Remy Martin decide to put off the pros for another year to play for Self.

Recruiting... sigh...

Remy Martin to Kansas

The Jayhawks now have the Martin Boyz in Crimson & Blue!

Currently all rides full for AY2021-22, pending Decision Day July 7 (“stay or go” day).

The OP has been updated to reflect the news.

KUSports.com - Tait: Kansas basketball lands commitment from Iowa State transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands

Puts KU one over the 13 scholarships limit unless one of Ochai, Jalen Wilson or Remy Martin stay in the draft.

Rumors are rife that Ochai will be staying in, hence Self taking the 6-4/187 SG from ISU.

9 new faces, 10 counting walk-on Dillon Wilhite. Wow!

Curry reopening his recruitment speaks volumes to Ochai Agbaji, Jalen Wilson and Remy Martin all withdrawing from the NBA draft by July 7 and heading to Lawrence to prepare for the AY2021-22 season. Curry’s change of heart means KU will be right at the 13 scholarship player limit (plus Prison Mitch as a Super Senior).

I will admit I was rather hoping he might turn out to be a latter day Richard Scott, but we shall not see now. I wish the young man good luck wherever he ends up.

Now we just need Remy Martin to come on down and the class is complete and ready to roll for 2021-22!

Tomorrow is his last day to announce he his staying KU, he must fish or cut bait NLT July 7.
