It's Thanksgiving Eve, but I'm sure y'all have remembered...

It's another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

Tonight (6:00 PM CT) is Game 3 of the Preseason NIT Season Tip-Off, telecast from Brooklyn (which owes the charmer under me) on ESPN2. Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2019 record to 4-0 against Milwaukee's own Marquette Golden Eagles (admit it, folks, even after all these years you were saying "Warriors" in your head as you read "Marquette") and their Dukie HC Wojo (no, not the guy from Barney Miller, c'mon, y'all, let's get all 21st Century now...).

One way or another KU will play Friday night against either Tennessee or Louisville, who play in the first game tonight @4:00 PM CT.
I really don't care which one KU plays, as long as it is the team that won.B)

What a gutsy win against Tennessee!
How’s the song go ... “Ain’t that tough enough?”

Next game isn’t until next Saturday, Dec 1, when our boys in blue host the Cardinal of Stanford in venerable Allen Fieldhouse!

Until then, have a great weekend and ensuing week!

For the second straight game it took overtime for KU to emerge victorious.

Vick (43 min, 27 pt), Lawson (36 min, 27pt, 15rb), Dok (28 min, 18pt, 9rb), Dotson (43 min, 10pt, 4A, 2S, 0TO) and Garrett (33 min, just 4pt, but 4 of KU's 10 steals and great defense after the half) carried the team.

I don't know about you, but I could sure use some wins that didn't take more than 40 minutes to earn.

And please, PLEASE may someone else besides Vick learn how to hit a 3!

Yes, it's another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

Tuesday night starting at 7:00 PM CT on the Jayhawk Network and ESPN+ our beloved Crimson & Blue KANSAS JAYHAWKS play host to the Terriers of Wofford College, located in Spartanburg, SC.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2019 record to 7-0, while the Terriers look to shine with untarnished honor, never knowing ignoble defeat.

Despite their school motto and their great 6-2 start (only losses to date are to UNC and OU; wins include a 20 point 81-61 win over Frank Martin's S. Carolina Gamecocks) that has them as one of the favorites to win the Southern Conference, the odds of leaving The Phog with another tick in the W column seem very unlikely (just 10.3% according to ESPN's Matchup Predictor) ... even with them being, in the estimation of HCBS himself, perhaps the best 3 point shooting team KU has seen (and perhaps will see) all year.

Needless to say, perimeter defense is going to be the key to winning this game.

Kansas City.... Kansas City here we come... for another...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

Saturday night starting at 7:30 PM CT on ESPN2 our beloved Crimson & Blue KANSAS JAYHAWKS will be Sprint Center hosts to the 7-1 Aggies of land-grant, space-grant and flagship research university New Mexico State University, located in Las Cruces, NM (46 miles north of El Paso, TX on I-10).

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2019 record to 8-0, while the Aggies, fresh off a 100-65 stomping of instate rival UNM Lobos strive to leave town with an 8-1 record (their only loss so far this year being to WCC member St Mary's Gaels of Moraga, CA, just 13 miles east of Oakland).

Dok will be sitting out this match as he works on recovering from his ankle sprain, so look for more 4 guard play with Dedric Lawson sliding to the 5 and Marcus Garrett starting as the 4. We can also expect that David McCormack will get more quality time, which can only help KU as the year progresses.

ESPN's Matchup Predictor gives the Aggies a 9.6% chance of winning.

One other note of interest -- tonight's ESPN2 talking heads will be Mark Neely (play-by-play) and mOO alum Jon Sunvold (analysis), who has always been a solid game announcer.

Yet another pull-it-out-late, come from behind W for our boys in blue, in large part thanks to the heroics of Dedric Lawson in the second half. For the 4th time in the last 5 games KU trailed at the half. Dedric finding his game in H2 ended with his 5th double double of the season (20 points, 10 rebounds), leading KU to its first 8-0 start since 2010-11 when the Jayhawks started the season with an 18-0 record.

Next up is Villanova @11AM CT next Saturday in AFH.

Get yourselves ready, Jayhawks!

Holy smokes, it's a...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!
(Guess we need a Jayhawk Phone -- comparable to Commissioner Gordon's Batphone -- for these day games, eh?)

Saturday starting at 11:00 AM CT on ESPN our KANSAS JAYHAWKS play host to last year's Final Four foe and National Champion Villanova Wildcats. ESPN's game voices will be Dan Schulman (play-by-play) and Jay Bilas (analysis), with Brooke Weisbrod doing the game reporting. Yay!

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 9-0, while Nova, a rebuilding shell of its mighty last year champions, try to improve their record to 9-3 for the year..

Lawd Almighty, tonight's anutha...

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

Tuesday December 18 starting at 7:00 PM CT on the Jayhawk Network and ESPN+ our KANSAS JAYHAWKS play host to Summit League member South Dakota Coyotes (pronounced ki-YOTES) in venerable Allen Fieldhouse. Dave Armstrong (play-by-play) and Chris Piper (analyst) will call the action.

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 10-0, while first year head coach Todd Lee hopes to lead his 6-5 KiYotes to improve upon last season's 2nd place conference finish. ESPN projects USD's chances of pulling off the upset heard around the college basketball world at just 3.8% -- but you know the KiYotes are looking at each other and saying "so they think we got a chance!!!" -- and all us senior members of Jayhawk Nation (and I'm sure the coaching staff as well) could really use a stress free non-con game for a change since 5 of KU's 9 wins have been by 6 points or less, eh?

Moore 18, D.Lawson 16, Vick 12 and Big Dave McCormack 12 (plus 6 rebounds in just 17 minutes, mostly in H2).

Looking like KU hoops in the last 15 minutes of the game.
And check out KU from the line! Only had 15 free throws, but made 12 for 80%!

... it feels good to be out of the rain... for another

... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!

Saturday December 22 at 8:00 PM CT on ESPN2 our #1 ranked KANSAS JAYHAWKS visit the not-so-high desert (Tempe elevation just 1135 feet above sea level compared to Mount Oread's 1020 FASL) to play Pac-12 member Arizona State Sun Devils (8-2, #18/#19). ESPN personalities for the game include Dave Pasch doing the Play-by-Play and the most colorful space cadet analysis by UCLAn Bill Walton (be sure to wear your EVA suits as Bill will surely try to take us on a trip to some other plane during the game).

Our Jayhawks look to extend their AY2018-19 record to 11-0 while exorcising the Sun Devils after losing to the Booby Dukie team last year in venerable AFH. ESPN projects ASU's chances of successfully defending their home court at 43.3%, and all the reasonable denizens of Jayhawk Nation are expecting a stress filled non-con first true road game... but look forward to our Jayhawks flying high in the desert sky tonight!
