Possession analysis

"It's a tough day for me emotionally. A lot of times there's so many other things going on -- distractions away from the game -- I'm always curious as to how we're gonna play. The guys that we started, the seniors, got us off to a great start. And it was strange, because we brought the regular starters in and they weren't into the game as much. Yet right before the end of the half, the last seven or eight minutes, we started playing much better. But it was a great night and a great way for the seniors to go out.

"Trying to think about the matchups ( is how he decided which of the six seniors would have to come out prior to the opening tip after all six had been announced as starters). If you put Jeff Carey and Todd Kappelmann in there, that means one of them is going to have to guard Siebrandt, and Matt does a good job of putting the ball on the floor, so I thought it would be easier for Chris (Zerbe) to guard him. That was basically it. I tried to figure out if there's any intelligent way to do it or superstitious way. I couldn't come up with any correct way. I don't know if it was the wrong way, either.

"We were able to make them turn the basketball over, then we took the turnovers and outscored 'em on points off of turnovers 48-4. We forced them into 28 turnovers, and I think that was the big part of the game.

"(Jeff Boschee) has been consistent with (three point shots). Tonight he's 5-9 and he's shooting 45 to 50% from the three point line. (Now 313 3pt FG for his career.) He's very confident.

"The most impressive thing about Aaron is eight assists to one turnover, and he's 4:1 in the league. One hundred five assists to 26 turnovers in league play, which is the best competition. He really has had a heck of a year for us, and he's gonna get better and better.

"It's set up perfectly for (MU, Sunday). They've got us on Senior Day, we're coming in 15-0 in the league, and they'll play very well. What we have to do is play with poise. The crowd will be going crazy. It'll be a big day for them, and I enjoy spoiling some people's big days, and hopefully that's what we'll do."
