Possession analysis

"I would describe it as a workmanlike effort. We were attentive to what we wanted to do out there. We got off to a good start, we were pushing the ball up the floor, we were sharing the basketball, and we shot it okay. We didn't seem to have the right focus when we got to the free throw line. But other than that, in the first half I thought we shot it well, we really defended, we got the tempo where we really like it. At the same time, Colorado wasn't making some of the shots they normally make.

"In the second half I thought we fouled way too much. They were in the one-and-one with about 12 minutes left in the game. We didn't slide our feet as well defensively in the second half, yet we were still doing a good job pushing it up the floor. But defensively we weren't as sharp and didn't do as good a job on the boards, keeping them off the boards.

"We didn't have many turnovers, but we got some turnovers from them in the first half and got our break going a couple of times. Our double-teams helped us. We got a couple of breaks there. In the first half and the first ten or 12 minutes of the second half, we were really good.

"Two of the last four games (Nick Collison) has had 17 shots. We've had a lot of games where we couldn't get him that many shots. Ten for 17 is okay, but a lot of times he'll make more than that. I thought Kirk was sensational. I thought Aaron shared the ball. Boschee, 8-13 (FG), 4-8 from the three point line. The guys did a good job of being unselfish with it and passing it around. It was a lot of fun to watch there for a while.

"We're gonna enjoy this a little bit. The guys who were in there at the end of the game aren't going to enjoy it, because I ripped them a little bit at the end of the game. Everybody who puts on a Kansas uniform is supposed to go out and do your best, and we didn't do that at the end. But if you take that away, I was very pleased with the way we played. The guys should feel very confident, but we know we've got to go play on Monday night. What we did today has nothing to do with what happens on Monday night."
