Possession analysis

"We needed to come back and get a W. To play well and get a W would have been even better, but just getting a W I thought was very important to us. We felt awfully bad after last night's game, and I said if we sat around and felt sorry for ourselves, we'd feel even sorrier after this one. So now we got the W there, and now what we have to do is turn around and get prepared to be able to play much better against Seton Hall tomorrow.

"We were extremely worried about (the physical well-being of the players). We tried to cut down on some of the guys' minutes; particularly Nick Collison. When he was out he didn't want to sit on the bench, so he stood down at the end, trying to make sure that he kept stretching. We felt like one of the best things for them would be if we could get a lot of action so they could run up and down and get their legs going again. Fortunately, it worked today.

"With Drew and Nick we have youngsters who can score and take the ball to the basket. Today we were able to get good spacing and open some things up for them. But I think also that Jeff Boschee's threes early in the game really helped us. We needed for him to get some positive things going, and I think he did early in the game by making those shots.

"It was a difficult matchup for (Kirk Heinrich), matching up against Louis Truscott at 6-6, 6-7, 220. But we're gonna have some problems this year matching up with some people. I told Kirk before the game that it is a difficult matchup, but it's also difficult for them at their end because they've got to have big guy chasing Kirk, and that's not easy either.

"A lot of people who watched it closely feel like (Seton Hall) should have won the game last night (vs Duke). I know they had some chances down at the end. They played a fantastic Duke team and played 'em down to the last seven seconds. They had the ball with a chance to win at the end, and Duke made a good defensive play. So we know our work is cut out for us, and we need to face the challenge, and we'll find one tomorrow."
