Talk about the game:
The Rock Chalk Board

Nick Bradford - "We played hard. We really did. I loved the way we battled. But I made a turnover (bad pass). I didn't see the defense. I wish I could have held it, been smart, been a senior leader, made the right decision. But I didn't, and it cost us.

"I loved the way we battled. We kept our composure when we were down by nine and it looked like they had control. But we didn't give up, and we fought, and they stayed poised, too, and made the plays down the stretch.

"We knew coming into the tourney it was a new season, and we re- dedicated ourselves. We battled hard tonight. I wish the ball would have bounced our way a couple of different times, but it didn't.

"They're the No.1 team in the country. They're very good. They're very well coached and disciplined, do a good job in half-court sets. We felt like we could beat 'em, but yeah, they're a good team and playing their best basketball right now.

"This year we wanted to try to peak at the right time, and I think we started to. I just challenged these younger guys to come back and get our program back to where we're a No.1 or No. 2 seed. That's the challenge the young guys have right now.

"Last year I didn't feel like I did my part because I fouled out, and it was a similar game, and I didn't have much say-so in the outcome. This year was a little different. It was similar in that it was close and we lost in the second round, but those two games were very, very different. We had a chance to win and just couldn't pull it out.

"It hurts. I didn't want to end my career turning the ball over, and that's what happened."

E-Mail Jack Kenny Gregory - "Some people make too big a deal of the seedings. You just have to play, regardless of who you're playing, where you're playing... First round, second round, once the tournament starts, it's a new start for every team out here. As you've seen, there's been a lot of upsets, so seedings don't mean much at all. You just have to play better teams early if you have a lower seed.

"We were just trying to get the best shot possible at that time (Bradford turnover). We were only down by one. With the guys we had out there, I think everyone had confidence about whoever got the shot. We just wanted to get the shot up instead of a turnover. If we miss it, we miss it, but as long as we got a shot up. Then they hit their free throws down the stretch. It shows a lot of character about their team. They have a lot of great players, and we gave 'em all they could handle today, but they came out on the positive end.

"Next year is the last thing on my mind right now. I'm just really disappointed with the outcome. We had a great week of practice and showed a lot of character in competing when no one thought we could compete with these guys today."
