Talk about the game:
The Rock Chalk Board

"We called a set play for Jeff to shoot three from the corner. We were down six, and he made the three and got it back to a one possession game. As you watched the game, you know he didn't make anything else the whole game hardly, but I've got a great deal of confidence in him, and he's got a great deal of confidence in himself. To me, that was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, plays of the game.

"The other thing that stood out to me is that down the stretch, I even got down on my knees in the huddle and begged 'em for a defensive stop about five times in a row, and that's what they did. That was sensational for us at that point. These kids haven't necessarily had the smoothest ride, but they did come up big today down the stretch when they had to do it on the defensive end."

E-Mail Jack Nick Collison - "I think this is the first time all year that we've really shown a lot of heart. We've had some games when we played hard. But we just didn't give up. And actually, it's easier to just keep playing in a game like this where it's one and done, because you know you've just got to give it all and whatever happens happens.

"We know we've got to play hard, but when you know your season can be taken away if you don't win, I think it just makes you play that much harder. I don't think any of us were out here not trying to play hard earlier in the year, but you can push yourself when you've got that risk of losing your season.

"It's a lot of fun (to play in a game like this). Anytime you play well, it's fun to go out there and play. It came down to the end, and we finally got a W on a game like that. We hadn't had that, except maybe Oklahoma."

Eric Chenowith - "I was fired up to play. It's the NCAA tournament, and I wanted to play well for the seniors because it's their last chance. A lot of their guys were talking, and I hate it when guys talk during the game because I think it's kind of pointless. It fired me up and made me a little mad, so I wanted to go out there and play a little harder."
