Possession analysis

"I feel like there were a lot of expectations on what I was going to do and on what I was going to help this team do when I came up here. If things had turned out the way I wanted them to, we'd only have one loss right now, maybe. Probably zero, but maybe one loss. And I'd be averaging about 18 right now. But it hasn't turned out that way. That's all right. I've learned to persevere. (Voice starting to quake a little) It is a struggle every day now. I'm trying to fight an enemy I can't see, and that's the hardest part, wanting victory as bad as I do and not being able to get it. But it's been an unbelievable pleasure playing with these guys, playing in this program, playing in front of ya'll, and I've loved every minute of it.

"Now for the thank yous. I want to thank my parents and grandparents. Those are six of the greatest people you could ever hope to meet.

"Now for coach Williams. The stuff that I've been taught over my three years here is stuff I never could have learned anywhere else; I definitely didn't learn my first year in college. From responsibility off the court to defense on the court, whatever it was, he taught me. I also want to thank him for not killing me after I got stuck in the mud duck huntin' and missed a practice. I wouldn't be standing here right now. Coach Williams has been unbelievable. I know you all love him, and you have every right to.

"For the team, you couldn't ask for a better bunch of guys to play with. I have experience in this, and there is no better chemistry you could put on a team, as far as people getting along. We all respect each other, and I've enjoyed playing with these guys. I won't go down the line. You all know I love you. Just thank you. Thank you for accepting me coming in from Texas. I appreciate that."
