This is big news. Could cost WVU a pretty penny if Florida State cannot find a "comparable" opponent for the Sep 8 2012 schedule opening.
WVU perspective:
may not have to pay a pennyFSU perspective:
may have to sueBig question becomes who determines what teams are comparable?
With WVU leaving the BEast, there going to be BEast teams looking for replacements for their lost WVU game.
Questions would be whether or not any of them would be considered "comparable" by FSU, and if any are, can they make a Sep 8 date at FSU?
Big 12 perspective has to be this is a good sign for WVU being on board for this fall.
This is also a good sign, despite all the things that are still up in the air:
Big 12 releases 10-team schedule to TV partners, which means WVU is on the list. This article is dated Jan 31 (the input to the networks was due Feb 1), and supposedly the Big 12 is going to release the schedule within a week. Nothing yet that I've come across, but if the B12 sticks to that schedule, we should see the fall schedule sometime this week.
