While looking for a head coach on a cool November day,
I happened on an article that paused me on my way.
Conference realignment now sits on our minds' back burners
as we contemplate replacement for our former head coach Turner.
But we must not forget that conference changes still go on,
and soon our old foe Misery and those Ags will be gone.
Yet even as they leave us, two more await in line
to take their place in the conference rolls,
to grab their chance to shine.
And while waiting for a Captain to command our once proud ship,
let's not forget still more exist desiring membership.
So much so that when recruits ask where they think they'll dwell,
Their captains say, quite earnestly, "
next year in the Big 12."
