International playersI left out the link to the site's
2012 Mock Draft. It includes projected international players. I used the term "Non-collegians", which includes international players, because Reeves Nelson was on the list, and although he is playing in Europe after being canned at UCLA, he is not an international player.
AgentsHiring an agent ends a player's eligibility, period.
Withdrawal from the DraftAs long as it is the player's first entry into the draft
and he has not hired an agent
and he withdraws before the first day of the Spring National Letter of Intent Signing Period (10 April 2012), he can withdraw his name and retain his eligibility.
Does Not Withdraw and is Not DraftedIf a player stays in the draft and is not drafted, he still loses his eligibility.
See the relevant regulation below. NB that the last 3 clauses are intended to be part of a whole critieria the student must meet, and are not to be applied separately.

12.2.4 Draft and Inquiry.
12.2.4.1 Inquiry. An individual may inquire of a professional sports organization about eligibility
for a professional-league player draft or request information about the individual’s market value without
affecting his or her amateur status.
12.2.4.2 Draft List. After initial full-time collegiate enrollment, an individual loses amateur status
in a particular sport when the individual asks to be placed on the draft list or supplemental draft list
of a professional league in that sport, even though: (Revised: 4/25/02 effective 8/1/02)
(a) The individual asks that his or her name be withdrawn from the draft list prior to the actual
draft;
(b) The individual’s name remains on the list but he or she is not drafted; or
(c) The individual is drafted but does not sign an agreement with any professional athletics team.
[The preceding are the general rules for all NCAA sports, see below for men's hoops - HE]
12.2.4.2.1 Exception—Basketball—Four-Year College Student-Athlete.
12.2.4.2.1.1 Men’s Basketball. In men’s basketball, an enrolled student-athlete may enter a
professional league’s draft one time during his collegiate career without jeopardizing eligibility in
that sport, provided: (Adopted: 4/30/09 effective 8/1/09)
(a) The student-athlete requests that his name be removed from the draft list and declares his
intent to resume intercollegiate participation not later than the end of the day before the first
day of the spring National Letter of Intent signing period for the applicable year; (Revised:
4/28/11 effective 8/1/11)
(b) The student-athlete’s declaration of intent is submitted in writing to the institution’s director
of athletics; and [ not "or"; the emphasis is mine -- HE]
(c) The student-athlete is not drafted.I personally like the idea that a student can stay in the draft yet still retain his eligibility if he is not drafted.
But that's not the way the regulation is written.
Using the word "and" instead of "or" explicitly makes tells the reader that all three requirements -- (1) request withdrawal, (2) notify the AD and (3) not be drafted -- must be met.
If the NCAA wanted to make an allowance for players that stayed in the draft but went undrafted to return to school, the regulation would need to be worded differently.
