I really hate to say it but aren't we all a little tainted as we all "drink the juice" at least a bit? Coaches are in it for the long haul- recover and move on. These players ( and some are still teenaged kids, and some ARE student athletes) only have an all too brief college experience, whatever number of years they attend. To have it sullied in this manner is a shame! (Hey Josh - how was your freshman year?)
This type of treatment of these young men and women is objectifying and dehumanizing. The true guilty are the leeches that are some of the youth coaches, AAU coaches and sometimes even parents that are using these athletes to embellish their own influence or financial situation without keeping the best interest of the player THE top priority. Do some boosters, administrators, staff and coaches fit into this category- absolutely. It is this group that should receive the brunt of penalties for any wrong doing- not some grade school kid that was totally unaware of the issue.
Bottom line- there has got to be a better way for the kids. We all are fans of a school and its teams that participate under the auspices of the NCAA. We should demand of the NCAA reforms of some nature that would remove such a heavy burden of compliance from the shoulders of innocent and/or desperately needy teenagers and their families.

Good luck, 'Cus and 'Kief!
