# 2012-05-17: Adams reported passing ACT, originally planned to be on campus 28JUNE2012.
2012-05-26: Adams was still waiting for his final core course grades to see if he has qualified.
NCAA will be looking at his having attended 3 HS, but I believe since he stayed in the Seattle HS
system (should be same standards across the system), he will not have any NCAA problems in that area.
2012-06-05: On May 25 Adams posted on Facebook "Giving my signature to #KansasUniversity its Official",
so he must have signed a financial aid agreement, since he could not have signed an LOI after 16 May.
Without an LOI, KU cannot talk about him until he is on campus.
2012-06-18: Both Adams and Doyle officially graduated HS as of June 16. Doyle started KU classes
Monday, June 18, and Adams reported he will be arrive at KU on July 1. Both are believed to have fully
qualified, but the NCAA does not release official clearances until late summer. Doyle is awaiting
word that the NCAA will accept two online courses he took because of an apparent screw-up by his
original high school in transferring grades to his second, graduating HS. Clearly Marshall High School
accepted the courses since Doyle got his diploma, but who knows if and when the NCAA will accept them
and give him the green light.
2012-07-05: Anrio (Rio) Adams is officially announced as the latest and final new member of the
2012-13 team. Don't know what he signed back in June, but the official financial aid agreement was
signed this week.
^2012-07-21: NCAA Clearinghouse informed Doyle he was fully qualified on Friday, 2012-07-20.
Still no word on the status of Rio Adams.
+2012-08-04: Self announces NCAA Clearinghouse has ruled Anrio Adams fully qualified.
All newcomers are approved for play, and the entire squad will be making the trip to Europe.OTHER TOP PROSPECTS PURSUED (Multiple sources; where available, NRank/Ratings are Scout's out of HS)

SF 1 ***** Shabazz Muhammad 6-5/207 (Bishop Gorman HS) Las Vegas, NV chose UCLA
C 9 ***** Tony Parker 6-8/255 (Miller Grove HS) Lithonia, GA chose UCLA

C - - Przemek Karnowski 7-1/280 (? HS) Bydgoszcz, Poland chose Gonzaga

PF 12 **** Damontre Harris 6-9/226 (Trinity Christian) Fayetteville, NC SCar transfer chose FL
HISTORICAL COMMENTS KEPT FOR THE RECORDRecently the teams recruiting Muhammad have been notified that his amateur status is being investigated by the NCAA , leading many KU fans -- particularly in light of Selby, McLemore, Traylor and Anderson -- to hope KU has dropped him from consideration.
Assuming KU decides not to pursue Muhammad, that still leaves at least Parker and Jackson that KU is pursuing beyond its two unsigned commitments.Polish C Przemek Karnowski 7-1/280 (see post below). A bigger get than Parker if KANSAS can land him?(REVISED 2012-06-16)1. Decommitting from Florida International after they fired HC Isiah Thomas, All-Chicago HS 1st teamer Milton Doyle is heading to Lawrence and KU tomorrow and will start classes on Monday. Doyle and his family members celebrated his graduation and preparing to leave for KU. However, according to the
Chicago Tribune, it appears there is still a question of whether or not Doyle will qualify. His mother Lisa Green said Doyle has the grades and test scores to be eligible next season, but he’s awaiting approval of two courses he took online because of complications following his transfer from Tilden to Marshall after his sophomore year.
Background on the "sleeper" recruit -- He was hurt his junior year and did not play AAU ball last summer, then originally committed early to FIU and Isiah Thomas (signed a financial aid agreement, not a National Letter of Intent). Result was the recruiting services largely ignored him, and still have, despite "the quiet assassin" (his HS coach's term for him) making the All-Chicago HS 1st team his senior year. KANSAS started talking with him after he reopened his search with FIU's firing of Thomas.
2. While waiting for word on the scholarship recruits, KU has added two more coaches son's as walk-ons. Evan Manning and Tyler Self have accepted offers to walk-on at KU, joining Niko Roberts as the 3rd son of a KU coach (now former coach in Evan's case) to walk-on for the Jayhawks. There are no signs at present that new Director of Basketball Operations Doc Sadler will have any of his sons (one 18 and attending Nebraska this fall, the other 15) walking on for KU at any time in the next few years.
Xavier PG (graduating this spring) Mark Lyons chose to transfer to Arizona and Sean Miller, who originally recruited Lyons to Xavier before taking the UofA HC job.
S.Carolina sophomore transfer Damonte Harris (F, 6-9/226; see post below) chose Florida.
The "early notice" date for Anrio Adams to get his ACT scores was 5 May, 3 weeks after taking the test. No news yet as of 9am Wednesday 16 May. It normally takes 3 to 8 weeks for ACT scores, so it could be as late as 9 June before Rio hears anything and still have it be considered within the normal report issuance time frame.
With the transfer of Merv Lindsay, KU's existing signees and commitments take up 5 of the projected 6 available scholarships. With Lyons off the table, is Self still looking for another PG? Or will he wrap up Damontre Harris for the future if Harris decides he wants KU? Or does Self believe that current commitment Anrio Adams will not qualify, leaving him to keep looking for another guard just in case?
