It's not like KU winning the championship, but I'll certainly take it.
It's official. I was one of the top 10 vote getters of the week. Thanks to tm, Allen, and anyone else who voted.
Here's the email I received.
Thanks again,
Andrew

We'd like to get your prize money and fresh fruit vouchers to you as soon as possible. Your prize of $750.00 must be made out to your school. We will send you $250 in fresh fruit coupons/vouchers to purchase Del Monte Fresh Fruit, as you need it for your classroom. The coupons are valid until April 30, 2012.
Below is a list of information we need from you as soon as possible so that we can get you your prizes. Please email this information to us no later than Monday, October 10, 2011.
1. School address and Federal Tax ID Number
2. Phone number
3. Name of hometown newspaper
4. Global School of choice -- please see list of schools here:[

As you know, part of this campaign involves awarding grants to schools in Del Monte growing areas around the world. As a winner, you get to choose which school you'd like to receive a grant and that school will be awarded $1,000 from Del Monte Fresh Produce. Not only is your hard work of getting people to vote for you paying off with your students, but you will also be directly responsible for helping a needy school in another part of world. The “Global Schools” we have selected to receive grants are located in Del Monte growing regions. This means that the parents of many of the students actually work on the farms that grow the bananas, pineapples, and other fruit that your students will be enjoying in class.
Lastly, we would like to get a photo of you with your students in your classroom, or on school grounds, that we can use on our website and for publicity to your local hometown paper. We will mail to you a "Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms" banner, along with your payment and fresh fruit coupons. We would greatly appreciate it if you could email a photo to us as soon as possible. We understand that some schools have strict photo policies, so if there is a concern just let us know and we'll work something out.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call or email me. Thank you for your support.
