Advertising Worksheet

The number of days a contracts lasts depends on the number impression purchased, the traffic in your zone(s), and the exposure rate desired.

The following chart is designed to give you a rough idea about the traffic in each zone. Because traffic at my site varies from month to month, I've included data since the opening of this site in September, 1997. These numbers are the minimum number of ad-views within each zone per week. The actual figures, especially for seasons and records, were likely much higher. The chart will be updated as data become available.

The 'standard weight' variable is the approximate percentage of pages in a particular zone in which your ad will be shown. This figure may be adjusted if you wish your ad to be seen more or less frequently.

To estimate the duration (in weeks) of your advertisement, take the weekly ad views of the zone you want. Multiply by the exposure rate you want. That figure is your expected ad-views per week. Divide that number into the number of total exposures you wish to buy.

Example: at the September levels of traffic the Forum/Poll zone shows approximately 5307 ads per week (53068 * .10) at the standard weight of 10%. 10,000 ads would last about 1.9 weeks. 21,000 ads ($105.00) would last about a month.
